This tour will take 3 hours and will cover part of Brunei’s history, religion, culture, heritage and daily life of locals. This tour includes two photo stops: First – outside the royal palace, Istana Nurul Iman (which means “The Palace of Light”) which is the biggest residential palace in the world with 1788 rooms and Second – a photo stop of The Water Village or popularly known as “The Venice of The East”, along the roadside. Visit the magnificently built mosque, The Jame Asr’ Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque which has twenty-nine 24K golden-topped domes (All mosques are closed for inside visit on Thursday and Friday). The Brunei National Museum: where guests can learn Brunei’s Muslim heritage, view the rare Islamic collection of His Majesty, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, natural history collection, cultures and traditions of the locals, sunken treasures and the foundation of Oil and Gas industry. The Royal Regalia where it is a home to a collection of royal regalia, royal chariot, gold and silver ceremonial armory and most importantly – His Majesty’s jewel encrusted crown that was used during his coronation in 1968.

NB: For Mosque visits, visitors are requested to dress appropriately, and i.e. Non-revealing clothing’s or shorts above the knees. For Royal Regalia, it is recommended to wear socks as you have to take off your shoes and the marbled floors are very cold. Mosques are closed on Thursday and Friday due to preparation for the Muslim holy prayers.

Generally recognized as the world’s largest water village, Kampong Ayer extends out over the Brunei River from both banks, and is home to around 30,000 people. Even four centuries ago, the size and complexity of Kampong Ayer greatly impressed the Magellan expedition, which received a stately welcome upon entering Brunei Bay in 1521. It is know to early European as the “Venice of the East”. It is claim to be the largest water village in the world and home to 30,000 peoples complete with schools, clinics, police station, shop and mosques. Although most of the houses on stilts are now furnished with every modern amenity, a traditionally colorful and lively. This tour includes boat ride cruise along the Brunei River and visit to a private home to have tea & local cakes with local people.

NB: The boat ride is an experience of its own - an open luxury boat called the "Pontoon". Life jackets are provided by Sunshine Borneo. Please remind to bring hat or wear long sleeves and suntan lotion if necessary.

Full day heritage tour of Brunei which will include the open markets, a busy place where locals buy their daily products, some ‘ready to eat’ food, handicrafts, local herbs and medicinal plants, Malay Technology Museum which has galleries on the Malays, ethnic tribes and their lifestyles, Brunei Museum: comprising of 6 galleries, 1) Unique and priceless collection of Islamic arts, 2) Malay lifestyle and wedding ceremony, 3) Oil and Gas, 4) natural history museum, 5) royal lineage, 6) shipwreck treasure discovery. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in town. In the afternoon, we continue our heritage tour to the Jame Asr’ Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. This is one of the most magnificent mosques in Asia with 29 golden domes. Then it is on to the Royal Regalia Building, which was completed in 1992 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. It is filled with pictures of the Crown Prince, the full Royal regalia used during the Coronation, the Crown, the replica of the throne room, and numerous gifts from the state dignitaries. Proceed to a boat ride and visit a house, where you can see the lifestyle of the locals. You will also have the opportunity to get souvenirs, as we will stop by Yayasan Shopping Complex. Lastly, Istana Nurul Iman (The Royal Palace). This is the largest residential palace in the world, and it is situated on top of a hill overlooking the capital and the Brunei River. This is a great photo opportunity.

This popular tour consists of a leisurely cruise through the mangroves in search of the wild Proboscis Monkey which are found only in Borneo. Before entering the mangrove forest we will pass the famous Kampong Ayer and Sultan’s Palace (Istana Nurul Iman).

This tour is designed for you to see and understand the habitat and ecology of this elusive creature which has excited the curiosity of visitors to Borneo since colonial times. The pendulous pink noses and potbellies of the adult males reminded locals of Europeans, and this gave them their local name of Orang Belanda, or “Dutchman”. Local populations have been decreasing and they need your help to prevent them from becoming an endangered species. Your experienced guide will explain how you can help to protect the proboscis monkey.

Explanations on Nipah palm and Mangrove forest will be given and an opportunity to witness other wildlife in the area. White-bellied Sea Eagles, Great White Egrets and King Fishers are commonly seen. We may be lucky enough to encounter a Salt-water Crocodile or Monitor lizard. Other mammals include otters, flying foxes and long tail macaques. Mangrove snakes and pythons may be observed on overhanging branches.

After that drive through the impressive Shell colony in Seria, visit the Monument of the Billionth barrel produced, the nodding donkey, oil refinery and many more oil related complexes before heading back to your hotel via coastal road.

Transfer from the Hotel to the jetty to board a public speedboat for an enjoyable trip upriver. The journey takes 45 minutes cruising along the picturesque Brunei River passing the Water Village on either side of the river, winding through a fascinating landscape of dense jungle, mangrove, swamp and thick Nipah palms. On arrival, disembark at Bangar town (Temburong district) Proceed inland by car to rural area of Temburong including a visit to Bukit Patoi rainforest, one of the most accessible forest reserve with a wide range of lowland and majestic rainforest trees (if you are lucky, you might see flying lizards, hornbills, gibbons, interesting insects. Along the walk, you will also be guided to the local usage for plants and herbs for medicinal or other practical uses. We then proceed to a local Iban house, the home of the Iban tribes, headhunters not so long ago. Here you will see the social aspects of their lifestyle. This tribe is learning very fast the ways of modern civilization and one should not be surprised to see their modern way of life. After the visit, back to Bangar town to have refreshment before heading back to Bandar Seri Begawan then to hotel.

One of the many islands in Brunei Bay about 45 minutes boat ride from Bandar Seri Begawan. It is of 100% mangroves, majority of the Rhizophora species. It has about 3km plank walkways between matured trees. Enjoy the walk within the mangrove swamp – the natural breeding place of many sea creatures. Listen to the singing of the different species of birds and the chirping sound of the clams as they clam up when the tide ebbs. Experience the feeling of anticipation of encountering one of the species of mangrove snakes or primates. Very ideal place for birdwatchers to spend the day.

Bukit Patoi forest reserve is situated in Temburong District. The journey from Bandar Seri Begawan to Bangar relies on public transport (Speedboat) and the route snakes its way through the water village, scenic view of the nipah lined rivers and mangrove forests before arriving at Bangar. From Bangar, board vehicle to be taken to Bukit Patoi. It’s a 2.5-hour leisurely trek up hill, passing through pristine rainforest. There are opportunity to see wild life if you are lucky. Recommended to bring binoculars. When we reach the hilltop, after a rest, we proceed to on our trek. You will learn about the jungle vegetation, trees, its local uses and medicinal values. Our guide will show you what is edible in the jungle, should you get hungry! The trek will pass by a waterfall, where we can enjoy a dip to cool off. After that, we will trek back to civilization where a waiting vehicle will take you to Bangar for the boat ride back to BSB.

This is a full day tour that takes you into the center of Brunei geographically. Tour starts early at approximately 07:30am and proceed down the ‘old route’ to Tutong town, passing through villages and scenic countryside. Our first stop will be the Forestry Museum at the Sungai Liang Forest Reserve and Research Centre. You will be able to see the diversities of wood plants, jungles and animals that are in existence in Brunei Rainforest. We then proceed along Labi road towards Luagan Lalak Recreational Park which is approximately 270 hectares within the Labi Hills Forest Reserve. A rare and interesting place, it features an alluvial freshwater swamp or empran. During rainy seasons, if fills up like a lake and in drier spells the waters recede and the valley becomes covered with sedges. There are shelters and walkways which cover most of the lake. We then proceed to the Labi Longhouse, a unique dwelling form in Borneo. A village under one roof, longhouses consists of a row of family houses or doors with a communal area running the length of the building. This is the social centre of the village. These dwellers are Ibans from Sarawak, who settled in Brunei in the early 70’s. We will visit the Longhouse (Cultural dance can be arranged for a fee), and have tea with the residents. Round about Lunchtime, we proceed to the Wasai Kadir Waterfall. A short 20 minutes trek will take you to a nice waterfall with primary rainforest. Picnic lunch will be served and here you can relax, swim or read a book until about 2pm when we pack up and proceed back to your Hotel along the coastal highway.

One of our very popular tours: The journey from Bandar Seri Begawan to Bangar relies on public transport (speedboat) and the route snakes its way through the water village, scenic view of the nipah lined rivers and mangrove forests before arriving at Bangar. At Bangar, we have a brief stop and then onward to an Iban village (Kg Batang Duri). From Kg Batang Duri, we shall take the ‘temuai’ (Iban longboat) and push through numerous rapids before getting to the National Park. Upon arrival, you will need to register with the National Park and then proceed to a nature walk. The nature walk displays a wide variety of insects, flora and fauna. Along the way, we shall cross hanging bridge and stop to climb the canopy walkway to view the forest top. At the end of the nature walk, we shall have a picnic lunch by the riverbank. Thereafter, you can relax; enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear water, before departing for Bangar town.

From the National Park to Kg Batang Duri, Rafting is available for the more adventurous at B$20.00 per pax (minimum of 4paxs) and advance booking is required.

An excellent tour for nature lovers or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The national park is 50,000 hectares of pristine rainforest with one of the best biodiversity in the world. You will experience up close the wonders of the rainforest; listen to the orchestra of nature’s music by the insects, birds and animals. This tour is rated as a soft adventure and suitable for those reasonably fit as there are many steps to climb and some slippery and wet tracks. The journey to the national park from Bandar Seri Begawan is itself interesting as you go on three different modes of transport and see the change in vegetation (plenty of photo opportunity). The trip departs BSB early afternoon and we proceed by speedboat to Bangar town where we will go overland to Batang Duri. At Batang Duri, we will go on a long boat or temuai up the rapids to the national park.

All meals are specially prepared by us, which are based upon local favourites and they are excellent too. Mineral water is also provided but you may purchase other soft drinks or snacks when you arrive at Bangar town if you like. After registration and check-in into your villa, you are free at leisure till dinner time, you can go swimming in the river or just relax and enjoy the serene majestic view of the surroundings. After dinner, we will brief on the next day’s programme and proceed for a night walk.

Morning call will be at 4.30am and after a quick cup of Coffee/Tea at Valley Café. proceed to the canopy walk for the sunrise view that literally takes your breath away. When the morning mist lifts you will see birds flying out to feed, hornbills soaring against the skyline and gibbons calling across the treetops. After that, we proceed back to the Valley Cafe for breakfast and proceed for a wet slippery trek to Sg Apan waterfall. Once there, you can relax and swim in the waterfall. We proceed back to the villa to freshen up and prepare for checkout. Lunch will be served at Two-River Terrace by 12 noon. Return downstream to Batang Duri and proceed to Bangar for the speedboat back to Bandar Seri Begawan.

1445 hrs--Arrive Bangar town - visit the local market and also the local convenience store for soft drinks and snacks, and also go for quick toilet break.
1530 hrs--Arrive Batang Duri – introduction to Long Boat and safety briefing
1600 hrs--Proceed by long boat to Ulu Ulu Resort, Ulu Temburong National Park
1630 hrs--Arrive at Ulu Ulu Resort. Register and check-in into villa. Afternoon Tea at CLUB Lounge. Swim and enjoy the beautiful environment.
1900 hrs--Dinner is served at Valley Cafe
2000 hrs--Proceed with night walk (bring along flash light)

DAY 2

What to bring along:
